Rick spent his childhood working with his dad on the weekends. He started using a hammer at 6 years old pulling nails and tearing old buildings apart in preparation for renovations. He was less then 10 years old when he was setting up trusses for the roof of houses his dad was building. He learned much aspects of construction continuing to work with his dad as a junior carpenter and at 16 went into the plastering trade becoming a apprentice plasterer. During that time he did stucco and drywall installation, taping, filling and sanding to reach journeyman status after 4 years. He worked for A&S Stucco & Plastering, Donalco Pacific and other union based companies. Rick now 21, then returned to the carpentry field and started a framing company, Upright Construction and continued to frame many houses until a back injury inspired him to move to the finishing and renovation aspect of construction putting more of his experience that he gained working with his dad to use. He partnered with a reputable finishing carpenter and worked on new high end custom homes for companies such as Polygon and Trademark Homes. He did many renovations and built custom decks and fencing as well.
